Bowl season in serious jeopardy; Indiana drops 20-17 game to Wildcats

For an Indiana football team that has yet to experience a Big Ten victory this season, Saturday’s game was a prime opportunity to remove the zero from the conference win column.

Instead, pursuit of that first Big Ten breakthrough will have to resume next week as the Hoosiers suffered their fourth conference loss of the season, 20-17 at Memorial Stadium at the hands of Northwestern.

IU-Northwestern tilt a must-win for both squads

After suffering a second consecutive blowout in Big Ten play, the Indiana Hoosiers return to Memorial Stadium this Saturday to face the upstart Northwestern Wildcats.

Battles between these two traditional Big Ten bottom-feeders have been competitive in recent years with the past three games having been decided by a total of only six points. Unfortunately for the Hoosiers, they are only 1-2 in those contests, and have historically struggled to win such close games.
